Let’s talk about sex, slavery, money, and children. What do they all have in common? Pimping and human trafficking, which is a common industry practice in today’s society. Many do not want to talk about it, but we will at the next Tea Time Speaker Series will present Sex for Sale: A look at Human and Sex Trafficking will take place on Monday, April 24th 2017 from 12:00-2:00. There will be a free luncheon from 12:00-12:30 and the keynote speaker will start at 12:30-2:00. The keynote will provide training on Understanding and Responding to Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation.
Listen and learn from Nikki Valila, who is the Director of Training at My Life My Choice has spent the past 12 years of her professional career working with commercially sexually exploited girls. She brings a wealth of experience having worked for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office in the Child Abuse Unit as the lead Victim Witness Advocate on the teen exploitation cases.
At this Understanding Victims Training, the keynote will provide a clear definition of what constitutes CSEC, how young people become exploited, and how to identify victims and help them find a path to safety.
