About the workshop: This interactive workshop by Lisa Goldblatt Grace and Ann Wilkinson from the My Life My Choice Program at Justice Resource Institute will provide an overview of the current research and offer participants a framework to understand, recognize and intervene on behalf of those experiencing trauma related sexual exploitation.

The goals of this day include:

·         To understand the current research related to the exploitation of adolescent girls, the role of pimps and the process of recruitment, and the clinical dynamics of involvement;

·         To understand the risk factors that make girls disproportionately vulnerable to exploitation

·         To understand the potential paths for leaving “the Life” and finding safety and stability;

·         To understand their role in identifying victims and helping girls exit;

·         To learn a trauma-informed, clinical framework for providing support to victims of exploitation; and

·         To collaborate around area resources for helping girls leave “the Life”.
