About the workshop: This all day training provided by Joan Tabachnick, DSM Consulting will provide some of the basics of what every organization should do to ensure a healthy environment for children.  Through interactive exercises, the workshop will also offer a chance for participants to examine what they might need for their unique programs, facilities or populations. Participants will leave with a solid overview of the various strategies that support the important work of youth serving organizations, while significantly reducing the risk for children and teens, as well as for the employees and volunteers in those organizations.  If you work with youth, train youth providers, offer services for childrenundefinedthis workshop will offer you an invaluable opportunity to consider the ways in which you can ensure that you are creating a safe, trauma informed environment.

About the trainer: Joan Tabachnick is nationally recognized for her expertise in sexual violence prevention and social marketing.   Over the past 20 years, she has developed award winning educational materials and innovative programs for a wide variety of national, state and local organizations and asked to participate on national expert panels for a variety of organizations including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Unitarian Universalist Association.  Her most recent work includes a National Sexual Violence Resource publication titled “Engaging Bystanders in Sexual Violence Prevention” and a publication through the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers called “A Reasoned Approach:  The Reshaping of Sex Offender Policy to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse”.  Visit www.joantabachnick.com for more information.
